Occasionally owners, especially municipalities can become concerned about the timing of contractor invoices during construction. Their primary concern can come from bonds not being issued before invoices arrive for large features (slides, etc). CH spoke with Splashtacular and they said that once their contract is signed, they typically will request approximately 5% of the total contract sum for engineering (2 months after signed contract), 65% for manufacturing and delivery (11 months after signed contract), 20% for installation (14 months after signed contract), and 10% is withheld for retainage (14 months after signed contract). (Invoice date examples were used from W Plano – Tom Muehlenbeck Center.) Times may vary if it is an outdoor pool. More money will be required up front if it is a private developer. This is typical for municipal projects.
