For color selection for diving pools it is recommended that the bottom be blue, and the walls be white. There may be issues with individual health departments. Counsilman-Hunsaker recommends against all blue because of potential for making it a darker environment.

A recessed toe ledge may be located approximately 4 ft. 0 in. below the water level.   It may be located on all four sides of the deep-water diving pool.

The overhead clearance above the diving boards and platforms must be at least that specified in the NFSHSA, NCAA, USA Swimming & Diving and FINA diving regulations.  This is usually 5 meters (16’-5”) above the highest diving board and platform.

Diving pool temperature should be between 84 and 86 degrees.

Handrails at platform and board level should extend to the pool wall.
