Camden County, NJ retained Counsilman- Hunsaker in October 2005 to develop aquatic options and provide data and information that would assist the County in making an educated decision on how best to proceed with the construction of an indoor aquatic center at Camden County College.
The Feasibility Study was based on extensive research including meetings with key representatives of Camden County and Camden County College, the steering committee, area swim team representatives, and other interested parties.
The study also included information and opinions developed from discussions with area aquatic providers, a visit to the Pennsauken and Blackwood Campus sites, market demographics, a community tour, review of national trends in aquatic recreation and competition, the development of construction costs, and an analysis of how all these components would impact the operation of the proposed aquatic facility.
The study's goal was to identify and evaluate current aquatic programming and aquatic facilities, both locally and nationally, and establish a needs analysis for new aquatic space and programming at the proposed Camden County College Aquatic Center. Counsilman-Hunsaker developed four options for consideration to meet the community's fitness needs.
