Chandler High School Competition Pool

Due to the existing pool’s poor condition, Chandler Unified School District selected Counsilman-Hunsaker in association with the Stichler Group to renovate and design Chandler High School’s new swimming pool.

In addition to the renovation, Counsilman-Hunsaker designed Chandler High School’s new outdoor heated 50-meter pool with a moveable bulkhead and springboard diving. The depth of the water (six feet to seven feet) provides less resistance for athletes, making it a “fast pool”.

Since opening, the pool has been met with rave reviews from aquatic athletes and the school’s swim coach, Richard Johnson. “This is going from the outhouse to the penthouse. It’s arguably the best swim facility in the state,” says Johnson. (The Arizona Republic, article by Doug Carroll)
