Brookside Park Pool (Study)

Farmington, NM

VIEW ALL PROJECTS

The team of Counsilman-Hunsaker and FBT Architects was hired by the City of Farmington Parks and Recreation Department to conduct a feasibility study for the renovation of the Brookside Park Pool. Built in 1958, the facility had far exceeded its useful life expectancy. The aquatic elements, including the depth of the pool, no longer met the safety and design standards of today’s competitive swimming environment. The bathhouse was non-compliant with today’s building code and accessibility standards. The study incorporated feedback and input from the local community. With plans to revive this aquatics facility at its current location, three options were developed to make the facility more attractive to welcome neighboring communities.
