The Hub Recreation Center (Study)

Marion, IL

VIEW ALL PROJECTS

After the city determined the need to build a new recreation center, they retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to guide them in achieving success in operating the new recreation facility.  As part of the design team, Counsilman-Hunsaker was asked to complete a facility-specific business plan for the proposed recreation center.  The plan recommended fees and usage rates based on local demographics which were then used to project annual revenues.  A detailed expense estimate included utility usage, labor demand, and other costs the facility would face during annual operations.

Aquatic Design & Engineering

The Hub Recreation Center celebrated its grand opening in March 2015 and includes an indoor six-lane, 25-yard competition pool as well as an indoor recreation pool.

Aquatic Operations

After completing design services for the aquatics center, the city retained the team of Counsilman-Hunsaker and Sports Facilities Management to provide Pre-Opening Management Services and ongoing Full-Time Management Services for the first six months of operation.
