The Glenview Park District, IL, commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker and McClure Engineering to provide an assessment of the 2001 Splash Landing Indoor Aquatic Center. Four bodies of water at the site included a warm water therapy pool, a six lane lap pool, a play pool, and a whirlpool. The assessment evaluated the existing pools and respective support systems, provided recommendations to enhance the air quality, and offered an opinion of probable cost for items identified.
The report also discussed new technologies and equipment currently available for swimming pools that will either assist staff with the operations of the pools or to be considered when equipment is desired and/or necessary to be replaced. Options for enhancing the pools were offered to continue providing amenities attractive to today's aquatic users from within the current membership as well as seeking potential new members.
