Hong Kong International School (HKIS) commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker to provide a swimming pool audit in May 2010.
HKIS operates two swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool located at the primary schools in Repulse Bay and an outdoor pool located in at the middle school in Tai Tam.
In addition to the audit, Counsilman-Hunsaker met with the swim team parents to provide an overview of aquatics and share initial audit findings regarding the physical condition of the pools and the pool mechanical systems.
Counsilman– Hunsaker also taught a National Swimming Pool Foundation - Certified Pool Operator (CPO) course for HKIS personnel.
The purpose of the swimming pool audit was to identify substandard items in the pool as well as items not to current industry swimming pool design standards, and provide suggestions for pool operations. The goal of this report was to assist in defining a course of action regarding the future of the pools.
In addition, an opinion of probable construction cost was provided for recommended repairs.
