Counsilman-Hunsaker conducted site visits to the existing aquatic centers at Star Plunge Mineral Pools and TePee Pools in Hot Springs State Park. Conditions were evaluated and interviews were conducted with personnel familiar with the construction and operation of the facility. Field notes, meeting minutes, and photographs were utilized to prepare assessments, preliminary recommendations and probable construction costs.
The aquatic centers were investigated for deficiencies with regard to current local health code, federal law and industry standards. A general commentary was prepared regarding support spaces, including the equipment areas; and a specific commentary was prepared regarding necessary repairs, replacement or restoration of the aquatic center systems, including identification of issues requiring further intensive evaluation and analysis. Recommendations were given for priority of renovation or replacement of aquatic center systems, (i.e., immediate, remedial, and/or long range).
