In February 2005, the Itasca Park District retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to evaluate the existing Itasca Water Park. The Park District commissioned this audit to identify items that are substandard or not operating as designed.
The audit provided the Itasca Park District an assessment and the associated costs for aquatic planning improvements to achieve new standards for the facility. The audit included identifying safety items, maintenance and operational issues, issues that would enhance the image of the park, and to prepare an opinion of probable costs.
The areas of study included the pool structure, re-circulating system, main drains, piping, pool heating, make-up water, valves, filtration system, water chemistry treatment system, pumps, and controls, etc.
Counsilman-Hunsaker provided recommendations and cost estimates for the needed repairs, replacement and/or renovation of the pool.
