Kosciusko Pool and Recreation Center
Brooklyn, NYThe New York City Parks Department retained the team of Sage and Coombe Architects and Counsilman-Hunsaker to evaluate alternative ways to use the Kosciusko Pool and Recreation Center. Following a review of neighborhood recreational amenities, the team identified several creative and practical conceptual design and programmatic options that addresses the demand for year-round multiple-use recreational programming space, including swimming. Proposed options included complete replacement of the entire complex along with demolition, rebuilding, and renovating only selected sections of the Kosciusko Pool and Recreation Center. All options aimed to significantly improve and expand useable program space and provide upgraded and modernized amenities for the community.
