Lees Summit Aquatic Center (Study)

Lees Summit, MO

The City of Lee’s Summit retained Counsilman Hunsaker to work with the City’s Aquatics Visioning Task Force to research aquatic master planning resources and to provide information that will help Lee’s Summit determine the feasibility for developing new aquatic amenities in the community. The purpose of this Feasibility Study was to offer a preparatory, comprehensive study analysis focusing on potential aquatic facilities for this community taking into account the new aquatics space at the Liberty Park Community Center and the functional and physical obsolescence of the Harris Park Pool.

The Consultants gathered research and information through extensive discussions and interviews with the Task Force, park staff, site visits, a tour of the community, and a town hall meeting with area residents.

Based upon the expressed desires of the community, two workshops were held with the Task Force to determine pro-type concepts that would respond to the needs and desires for aquatic programming in the community.
