The Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) is a 23,431 sq. ft. recreation center that opened in 2001 and provides social, educational, wellness, and athletic activities for all ages. The center offers a gymnasium, game room, arts and crafts room, multipurpose room, kitchen, and the home to the Mansfield Senior Citizens program. However, MAC has been determined as too small to meet the growing recreation needs of the community as well as a growing senior population.
The City of Mansfield retained Brinkley Sargent Architects and Pivot Recreation Resources (a division of Counsilman-Hunsaker) in providing preliminary programming and design for a new recreation center as well as MAC expansion options. The consulting team developed an operational plan to guide the programming and budgeting process in helping the city determine the best option for their growing needs.
