In July 2008, Counsilman-Hunsaker conducted a city-wide aquatic facilities master plan which included several public meetings to help determine priorities for the future of the city’s aquatic facilities. Implementation strategies included replacing the city’s aging and obsolete pools with new neighborhood aquatic centers. Economic modeling was also provided for each concept including projected costs, estimated attendance, potential revenue, and estimated operational expenses. Pleased with the results of the study, in 2012, the city began implementing the replacement of several pools, the first of which was Marine Park Pool.
