A 2005 Parks and Needs Assessment determined that the 1975 Onesty Pool in Meade Park was beyond the point of cost-effective repair and in need of replacement. In order to ensure the best use of funding and park land, a planning process began in 2006. In the summer of 2009, the new Meade Park Onesty Pool, designed by Kimley-Horn & Associates and Counsilman-Hunsaker, was revealed to a capacity crowd.
