Located in one of Bloomington’s older neighborhoods, the redevelopment of O’Neil Park and Pool signals a substantial investment in community revitalization. The new 110,000-square-foot aquatic facility is designed for both recreational and competitive swimmers. It offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals and families alike. With a thoughtful layout and a wide range of water features, it caters to users of all ages and abilities.
The facility's heart is a 4,460 sq. ft. lap pool, ideal for training and competition. This pool holds 296,374 gallons of water and includes eight 25-yard lap lanes and 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards for advanced aquatic activities. Accessibility and safety are prioritized with stair entry, grab rails, and a pool lift to assist individuals with mobility challenges.
Complementing the lap pool is a 9,448 sq. ft. leisure pool designed for relaxation and play. It features a 30-foot waterslide tower with three slides, one with a runout, and a 160-foot lazy river for a more laid-back experience. The leisure pool includes a zero-depth entry, a play structure, various spray features, underwater benches, and multiple stair entries with grab rails. Like the lap pool, it has a pool lift, ensuring all visitors can enjoy the amenities. The O’Neil Park Pool is a vibrant, inclusive space that brings together fun, fitness, and community.
