Founded in 1909 in a booming oil town, the Tulsa YMCA has expanded to include the surrounding counties of Creek, Tulsa, Wagoner, Rogers, and Osage. Six branches and several public school sites later, the new 30,000 sq. ft. Owasso Family YMCA, located just south of a major entry into Tulsa, Oklahoma, is designed to celebrate the senses as the outside world melts away, especially when sliding the amazing waterslide, which corkscrews from the inside to the outside and back again!

In association with Selser Schaefer Architects, Counsilman-Hunsaker designed the aquatic components for the YMCA to encompass a wide array of activities and programs for diverse age groups.

The family-friendly recreational pool features:

  • Indoor 3,716 sq. ft. multi-purpose pool with winding 115-foot-long indoor/outdoor waterslide
  • 136 sq. ft. whirlpool spa
  • Interactive water toys for children

The YMCA also houses a variety of recreational spaces, including a double-court gymnasium, cardiovascular and weight-training areas, and men and women's locker rooms.
