Thompson Dyke & Associates and Counsilman-Hunsaker were authorized by the Park District of Oak Park to provide a swimming pool audit in April 2007 for the swimming pools at the Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex.
Originally constructed in 1961, the pools are facing the physical and functional obsolescence. Improvements have been made to the pools and mechanical systems over the years with the most significant renovation in 1996.
The purpose of the audit was to evaluate the existing two bodies of water with an evaluation of their respective mechanical systems, and to provide an opinion of probable cost for items identified. Counsilman-Hunsaker presented several options for consideration for long-term planning for aquatics at the Ridgeland Common. Each option included an opinion of probable cost associated with the respective repair/replace/renovate options.
