In 2009, Counsilman-Hunsaker was retained by the Pattonville School District to determine a campus-wide athletic master plan. The plan included the addition of a competition pool for the Pattonville swimming and diving team. Several options were explored to determine the best opportunity for the team to train and compete.

January 2013 marked the Grand Opening of the Pattonville Aquatic Complex, the first pool built and operated in the Pattonville School District. Construction of the new pool fulfilled a wish repeatedly vocalized by students, parents, and community members for countless years. The community supported that dream in November 2010 when Pattonville voters approved a $41 million, bond issue to fund a variety of construction, repair, and improvement projects throughout the district including a natatorium at Pattonville High School.

The pool was designed for both the boys and girls swim and dive teams to practice at the same time. Aquatic amenities include:

6,250 sq. ft. Competition Pool

  • 25-yards by 25-meters
  • Eleven 25-yard lanes
  • Eight 25-meter lanes
  • Depths ranging from 3.8 ft. to 12.8 ft.
  • Two 1-meter, two 3-meter springboards, and one 5-meter diving platform
  • Spotting rigs over the diving boards
  • Video system to allow divers to view and critique their dives
  • Regenerative Media Filter System will save approximately 250,000 gallons of water per year
  • Spectator seating for more than 400 patrons

The aquatic facility also features two locker rooms, two family changing rooms, an athletic training facility, a wet classroom, and a multipurpose room for physical education classes or other athletics and activities as needed.
