Port Aransas, TX (Audit)

Gignac Architects contacted Counsilman-Hunsaker on behalf of the City of Port Aransas to assess the aging outdoor facility at the Port Aransas Community Pool. At the time, the city was in the early stages of planning for a new community recreation center and wanted to evaluate the feasibility of upgrading the existing pool and systems as part of the project. Given the pool’s proximity to the ocean, the city was already aware of the accelerated wear affecting the pool and its mechanical equipment. In 2024, Counsilman-Hunsaker conducted an assessment to determine whether the mechanical systems could be replaced. A new mechanical room location was identified on-site without requiring significant disruption to the existing pool shell.
