Counsilman-Hunsaker, along with Moseley Architects, was commissioned to design a 76,000 sq. ft. world-class aquatic complex for the City of Roanoke with an assortment of amenities for the entire community to enjoy. This indoor/outdoor aquatic center includes leisure amenities for all ages.

The main visual attraction of the outdoor pool is the bowl slide, which offers exploratory riders a chance to shoot down a slide length of 95-lineal feet into a splash bowl, where they swirl around the funnel, then exit by a vertical drop of 37 ft. into a catch pool complete with exit stairs.

Project completed in January 2010 and received the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for energy efficient design.
