In 2006, the Greater Wichita YMCA commissioned the aquatic expertise of Counsilman-Hunsaker in association with Schaefer Johnson Cox Frey to renovate and expand their existing outdoor swimming facility.

The YMCA also houses a variety of recreational spaces, including a double-court gymnasium, cardiovascular and weight-training areas, indoor track, racquetball courts, sauna/whirlpool steam rooms, youth fitness center, kids zone, and child development center.
