Southern Methodist University (audit)
Dallas, TXThe Counsilman-Hunsaker and Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects team was hired by Southern Methodist University to evaluate the Perkins Natatorium built in 1941. Counsilman-Hunsaker performed an audit of the pool which included an analysis of the existing conditions of the facility. The study also included a comparison of renovation and repair versus expansion or building a new facility on the existing site. This consisted of developing numerous site options, budgets, and a conceptual design of the proposed project for fundraising.
Aquatic Design and Engineering
Based on the results of the audit and study, the team of Counsilman-Hunsaker and Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects were once again retained to provide aquatic design and engineering services for a new aquatic center. This facility, completed in 2017, features a 50-meter competition pool, a diving well with two 1-meter and two 3-meter diving stands, and 10-meter diving platforms, allowing them to host major competitions and events.
