Southern Methodist University – Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center – Dallas, TX (Audit)

In 2024, Southern Methodist University (SMU) hired Counsilman-Hunsaker to assess the indoor 50-meter pool at the Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center, initially opened in 2017, due to widespread discoloration and staining in the plaster finish, particularly in the deep end. The assessment focused on identifying the causes of staining, evaluating the pool finish and mechanical systems, and recommending both remediation strategies and potential upgrades. That same year, SMU joined the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and aimed to ensure its natatorium provided a premier competitive environment for NCAA events. The evaluation concluded that the plaster had reached the end of its service life and required replacement, and that selecting mechanical upgrades could help extend the longevity of the new finish.
