Summit Family YMCA was founded in 2001 through a unique partnership with Summit Healthplex, a newly opened state-of-the-art health care center that includes medical practices such as orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, internal medicine, and occupational medicine.
The Summit Healthplex is committed to an integrative approach to medical care, which heavily emphasizes wellness, prevention, and physical fitness.
Because of this commitment and in recognition of the YMCA's unmatched credentials in the area of wellness/fitness, the leaders of Summit Healthplex invited the YMCA to partner with their organization.
Counsilman-Hunsaker and Collins Cooper Carusi Architects teamed to design the new natatorium at the Summit Family YMCA. Features in this facility include an eight lane 25-yard competition swimming pool with 1-meter diving and an 800 sq. ft. therapy pool.
The 60,500 sq. ft. facility also includes a gymnasium with indoor running track, aerobic studio, fitness training center, childcare, youth and teen centers, multi-purpose community room, locker rooms, and administrative offices.
