Blue Fields Competition Pool (Study)

Boston, MA

VIEW ALL PROJECTS

A local group of swim parents retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to provide a feasibility study for a new practice and competition facility. They called their project “Blue Fields”. The goal of the study was to assist their organization with developing a plan for the construction and operation of a natatorium in the Greater Boston Area. Three aquatic center concepts were developed for the Blue Fields Project to consider. Ultimately, a “Modified Option 2” was developed as a hybrid of Option 2 and 3 to meet the project’s needs, which featured a natatorium with an indoor 50-meter competition pool, six lane teaching pool, 1,000 spectator seats, analysis tanks, dry land / team room, and meet management room.
