The Student Recreation Center expansion consists of a 9,000 sq. ft. renovation and 80,000 square feet of new construction within a two-story building. The expansion provides additional fitness and activity spaces integrating with the existing building and site, thus creating a unified recreation complex.
The new amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and spa, indoor jogging track, indoor climbing and bouldering wall, additional indoor courts, fitness lab and massage therapy room, additional cardio and weight equipment, and multipurpose rooms.
The new aquatic facility provides many options for the growing campus population including swim classes, intramural sports, club activities, and recreational use. Amenities include:

To meet University of California green-building requirements, the new recreation center has been designed to meet LEED Silver Certification. Its features include lower operating costs, reduced waste sent to landfills, and energy and water conservation.
