Site of 1990 Olympic Sports Festival, Big Ten Championships, NCAA Championships The Freeman Athletic Center was constructed in 1990.

The natatorium includes a dotted "I", 50-meter competition pool and diving pool with tower. The bulkhead provides for a 25-yard by 25-meter space as well as the 50-meter competition area, while the separate diving well has 1- and 3-meter springboards, and a 1-,5-,7.5- and 10-meter platforms. The center received the Facility of Merit Award in Athletic Business magazine in December 1991.
