Walnut Hills High School, a historic college preparatory school for grades 7-12, is nationally recognized as one of America's top public high schools. The 1,900 member student body is culturally and ethnically diverse, with students attending from every urban neighborhood in Cincinnati.During the 2010-2011 school year, an eight-phase renovation of the high school began starting with the complete demolition of the school’s interior.  Construction also included an addition of an athletic complex that was completed in the first phase of construction.

Highlights of the $56 million project funded by both Cincinnati Public Schools and the school's strong alumni foundation include a new state-of-the-art athletic complex, including a new gym with seating on three of the four walls, locker rooms, and a full size natatorium featuring a six lane, 25-yard pool to be used primarily by the high school swim team. Features of the natatorium include:
