Westminster Christian Academy is one of the largest private Christian schools in the nation. The 7th through 12th grade secondary school, with its new main campus located in Town and Country, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, was completed in August 2011. The $50 million facility accommodates up to 1,200 students and provides 300,000 sq. ft. of finished educational space, plus extensive athletic facilities.
The campus houses three gymnasiums, an indoor eight-lane swimming pool, 610-seat theater, 200-seat black box theater, library, 400-seat cafeteria, broadcast studio, more than 100 classrooms, and a full array of specialized areas for the sciences, practical arts, and fine arts. The outdoor athletic facilities include 12 outdoor tennis courts, a competition track, a 2,000-seat football stadium with a synthetic turf field, and generous grass fields for soccer, baseball, softball, field hockey, and lacrosse.
The Counsilman-Hunsaker/Zwick and Gant Architecture team was retained by the school to provide design and engineering services for the natatorium, which includes an all-tile swimming pool used for practices and meets for the girls’ and boys’ swim teams. Amenities include:
