On behalf of the local aquatics community, the Lake Oswego Swim Club commissioned a study by Counsilman-Hunsaker to help school and city planners form a vision for a new aquatics center to be funded by the Lake Oswego School District Facilities Bond. The study focused on form and function, budget and siting for an aquatic center. Initial findings were presented to members of the School Board and City Council. It was recommended that a 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool is required to meet the immediate needs of the district’s high school and age group users. Recommendations were made for size of the site for flexible design and expansion, and estimated project costs were provided.
