Having been closed to the public for renovation since December 2017, the City of Corpus Christi opened the newly renovated West Guth Pool in July 2018.
Renovations include a new pump room, new pool equipment, adding zero-depth entry to the pool, new water features, and a rock-climbing wall which rises up to 10 ft. 6 in. above the water level.
The new pool filtration system is a pre-manufactured vacuum sand system and resides approximately seven feet below the deck surface. The renovation also includes significant demolition of the existing pool gutters, deck, pump room and storage, and existing electrical and plumbing, as well as the concrete pipe encasement at the interior floor to the wall cove of the pool. Also featured are a new ramp entry and ADA lift access chair to the perimeter of the pool, as well as anchors for basketball and volleyball.
The existing restrooms, office, and shade structures remained the same.
