In April of 2017, Belton voters approved a $20 million bond issue funding construction projects for the Belton School District #124. The bond financed the construction of additions and improvements to the high school campus, including adding an additional 25 classrooms, counseling and office spaces, a gymnasium, lobby and locker rooms, an aquatic center, and a performing arts center; and completing facility maintenance and improvement projects throughout the district.
Aquatic Operations Services:
Counsilman-Hunsaker was also contracted by Belton School District #124 to provide pre-opening services for the new pool. Services included operations training, a Standard Operating Procedures Manual, and a Certified Pool-Spa Operator training course for staff. During the operations training, Counsilman-Hunsaker staff led Belton School staff through facility operations, maintenance procedures, emergency action plans, and other operational items. The Standard Operating Procedures Manual included personnel policies, facility-specific procedures, emergency action plans, and job descriptions. The Certified Pool and Spa Operator Course was provided through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance and was a two-day course, providing a five-year certification to participants. The course focused on maintenance training, water quality, daily operations, and maintenance planning.
