Due to water loss issues in 2008, Bowie State University closed their 35-year-old indoor swimming pool, which is located on campus in the Leonidan S. James Physical Education Complex. Counsilman-Hunsaker performed an aquatic audit to identify recommended repairs for the pool with an opinion of construction cost for the repairs. Based on these recommendations, the pool re-opened in 2010.
In 2019, Counsilman-Hunsaker was once again retained to perform another pool audit to determine items that needed immediate repairs. The owner selected Paddock Pools as the contractor for the repairs and Counsilman-Hunsaker performed construction administration reviews throughout the work. The pool was repairs were completed and the pool was operational again by November 2019.
