Arete Design Group commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker to provide a swimming pool evaluation of the Art Badgett Pool constructed in 1981. The site is home to two bodies of water: a three-lane lap pool and a small wading pool, which is currently out of commission. Ultimately, the Town of Dayton is interested in determining if any existing pools are worth keeping for future use. If so, what repairs should be prioritized to keep the pools running? Providing a safe and sanitary environment for the pool users is the highest priority for the Town of Dayton.
The purpose of the assessment was to identify substandard items in the pools, pinpoint items that do not meet current pool industry standards and identify pool equipment that is not operating as designed. To assist in defining a course of action regarding the future of the facility, an opinion of probable construction cost was provided for immediate and future repair recommendations.
