In 2022, the University of Illinois–Chicago entrusted Counsilman-Hunsaker with conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the Recreation Pool and Spa housed within the Student Recreation Center. Despite their inauguration in 2005, the swimming pools exhibit discernible signs of their two-decade existence. The evaluation highlighted various aspects that need thoughtful renovation or replacement, including pool surfaces, overflow gutters, filtration systems, and mechanical room components.
The resulting report not only outlined the recommended repairs and renovations but also provided insightful estimates of the probable costs involved, ensuring a well-informed approach to preserving and enhancing the vitality of this essential university facility.
