APSP Announces CEO Search

The Board of Directors of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) announces that it has begun search efforts for a successor to President and Chief Executive Officer William Weber, in preparation for his planned departure in late 2013. Appointed in 2005, Weber also serves as ex officio member of the APSP Board and Executive Committee.

A CEO Search Committee (CSC) has been formed by the Board of Directors to facilitate the search effort. The CSC will be chaired by Bruce Fisher of Hayward Pool Products and past chair of the APSP Manufacturers Council. Committee members are: Mark Laven, Latham International; Mike Dunn, Watkins Manufacturing; Greg Howard, Carecraft; Michael Miller, Miller Pools; Mike Giovanone, Concord Pools & Spas; Martin Silver, Bel-Aqua Pool Supply; Joe Amato, Amato Industries; Steve Gorlin, Gorlin Pools & Spas; Larry Caniglia, NESPA; and Lauren Stack, APSP.

“The Board of Directors and the CSC are committed to taking steps to guarantee that the search for the next CEO of APSP is thorough and transparent,” said Gorlin, incoming APSP chairman of the board. “We are confident that the CSC will recommend qualified candidates for consideration to lead APSP on its growth path.”

The CSC will begin by identifying a search firm partner, developing a job description, timeline and process. Information regarding the CEO search will be posted at www.APSP.org/CEOSearch as the process unfolds. The webpage will include the timeline for the search, the CSC roster, and public announcements, including a call for qualified candidates.
