The City of Craig, Colorado, sought a professional review of its aging outdoor aquatic center to identify deficiencies and substandard conditions of the existing pools, decks, and bathhouse.
The City of Craig, Colorado Swimming Complex has two pools. A 4,837 sq. ft. lap pool which was constructed in 1977, and a 6,000 sq. ft. wave pool that was constructed in 1986 and renovated in 2010. The pools along with their water treatment systems were experiencing numerous issues, which is typical for aging outdoor pools in the harsh winter environment of Colorado. Ohlson Lavoie contracted Counsilman-Hunsaker to review the pool structures, finishes, and water treatment systems and to identify any areas of concern.
These concerns were broken down into immediate, short-term, and long-term, allowing the city of plan accordingly for needed repairs or eventual discussion of replacement.
