Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) opened in 1963 as Ohio's first community college and remains Ohio's oldest and largest public community college. For nearly 50 years Tri-C has provided high quality, affordable education and programs to more than 900,000 members of the Highland Hills community.
In 2012, a new 25,000 sq. ft. addition was constructed next to the existing Student Services Building at the Eastern Campus. The addition houses a natatorium and an expanded Fitness and Wellness Center with storage, showers, locker rooms, and faculty offices.
Because fitness swimming remains one of the most popular forms of exercise, the aquatic center features an indoor 4,100 sq. ft. recreation pool that includes six 25-yard fitness lap lanes, water basketball, vortex, and ADA accessible recessed stairs.
The pool boasts state-of-the-art HVAC and UV disinfection systems to ensure essential air quality and a comfortable environment for all patrons. In addition, to promote energy efficient design, the pool was designed with regenerative media filters and pool covers to save water, chemicals and energy.
