The Denver Triton Swim Team, along with several other aquatic sports teams including masters swimming, diving, water polo, and underwater hockey, determined a need for Denver to have an indoor aquatic training center for all aquatic sports to use.
The group formed together to create a group called Denver Indoor Pool (DIP). The DIP board contracted with Counsilman-Hunsaker to complete a comprehensive feasibility study to determine the overall cost to build and operate a facility that could host all types of aquatic sports training. After several months of investigation, the group ultimately determined to begin fundraising for a 50-meter training facility, teaching pool, and dive facility.
