Fairhaven School (AUDIT)

Counsilman-Hunsaker assessed the swimming pool facility at the Fairview School. The school was concerned that the single main drain in the pool was not code compliant and that a second drain was required by code. The existing pool slab was recently saw cut to remove the existing drain, and a second drain was added. During this process, a large void beneath the pool slab was discovered toward the end of the deep end slope. It was also discovered that the main drain piping had been filled with concrete at some time in the past. The purpose of the site visit was to evaluate the swimming pool and mechanical systems and the swimming pool structural condition, including the void beneath the pool slab, and assess for any damage to the pool shell. Cost estimates were included by highest to lowest priority for considering and implementing repairs/replacements/renovations.
