As a part of a large renovation and expansion project at Fort Stockton High School, the school district added a new band hall and natatorium, along with renovations to the commons/dining space, administration space, and main entry.

Fort Stockton ISD selected Counsilman-Hunsaker in association with Parker Smith Cooper to design the new natatorium to be used for hosting competitive swimming events and training for the high school swim team. The design team met with key stakeholders from the school district to research and prioritize the educational and program requirements that would be implemented into the new natatorium design.

The 22,000 sq. ft. natatorium facility houses a competition pool and space to accommodate 500 spectators. The facility is equipped with boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, showers and restrooms, an office, and equipment room.

Aquatic amenities include:

7,160 sq. ft. Stretch 25-Yard Pool

  • Eight competition lap lanes
  • Two 1-meter springboards
  • Fiberglass movable bulkhead
  • Stair entry at shallow end
  • Modular Climbing wall
