Indiana University – Indiana Athletics Excellence

Located on the campus of Indiana University (IU), the Indiana Athletics Excellence is a state-of-the-art facility that provides a home for the Excellence Academy program, which is one of the most innovative and effective personal development programs in all intercollegiate athletics.  The $48 million, 66,600 sq. ft. facility encloses the south end zone of Memorial Stadium called, the “Circle of Excellence”. This facility includes the D. Ames Shuel Academic Center, the Jay and Nancy Wilkinson Performance Center, the Dr. Lawrence D. Rink Center for Sports Medicine and Technology, the Hancock Hiltunen Caito Center for Leadership and Life Skills, and the Tobias Nutrition Center.

Located in the Dr. Lawrence D. Rink Center for Sports Medicine and Technology, the new Rehabilitation and Treatment Center offers three times the space as the previous athletic training room. Included in its nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of space are four hot and cold tubs, a lap pool and an underwater treadmill, all designed by Counsilman-Hunsaker. In addition, IU’s student-athletes and medical professionals will have the very latest in diagnostic equipment at their disposal to help prevent, diagnose, rehabilitate and treat injuries.

Aquatic amenities include:

  • 430 sq. ft. One Indoor Two-Lane Lap Pool
  • 100 sq. ft. Three Indoor Cold Plunge Pools
  • 100 sq. ft. Indoor Warm Plunge Pool
  • 60 sq. ft. Indoor Treadmill Pool
