In February of 2019, the City of Yakima retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to prepare a feasibility study for a new aquatic center at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The project would bring a much- needed aquatic facility to the east side of the city. Counsilman-Hunsaker provided various facility design options based on feedback taken from multiple community meetings. The final study presented three facility options for the City to consider along with detailed expense and revenue analysis plus phasing options.
