Gunderson High School
In May 2017, Counsilman-Hunsaker conducted a facility audit of the existing outdoor 50-meter competition pool and dive well. The audit identified conditions of the pool that were substandard, items not to current industry swimming pool design standards or codes, equipment that was not functional or not operating as designed and assisted in defining a course of action regarding any necessary updates, repairs, or modifications to the pool or pool systems. In addition, an opinion of probable construction cost was provided for recommended repairs and/or updates that would serve to improve the operation of the pools and bring the pools up to current industry swimming pool design standards.
Pleased with the findings from the report, the school district retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to renovate the facility to bring it up to current standards. Renovations included:
- Removal and replacement of the plaster finish
- Removal and replacement of the gutter finish
- Replacement of all existing lights with new LED lights
- Replacement of all light niches and required conduit
- Replacement of existing starting blocks with new
- Installation of two (2) new ADA pool lifts for the lap pool and one (1) new ADA pool lift for the dive well
- Replacement of existing chemistry controllers with new
- Replacement of existing chlorination systems with new
- Replacement of pool heating systems with new
- Installation of new LED video scoreboard
- Replacement of existing filtration system tanks with new
- Installation of new recirculation pump VFDS
- Replacement of existing recirculation pumps and motors with new
- Replacement of check valves with new
Leland High School
Counsilman-Hunsaker conducted minor renovations to the pool:
- Pool structural repairs
- Installation of new VGB compliant main drains
- Removal and replacement of pool plaster finish
- Replacement of all existing lights with new LED lights
- Replacement of all light niches and required conduit
- Installation of new recirculation pump VFD
- Replacement of pool heating systems with new
- Replacement of existing recirculation pump impeller and motor with new
- Replacement of check valve with new
- Replacement of existing chlorination system with new
- Replacement of existing chemistry controller with new
- Replacement of tile vertical depth markers
