The Splash Factory is a 1,700 sq. ft. interactive sprayground located behind the Charley Taylor Recreation Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. It features fun age-specific play areas, including a tipping bucket, directional water cannons, geysers, and several new interactive features. Multiple canopy shade structures were replaced around the perimeter of the sprayground, which gives this facility the ability to host various parties and events.
The sprayground was renovated in 2020, which included replacing a portion of the spray features and replacement of all sprayground mechanical equipment and systems. The existing mechanical space was expanded to better house, ventilate, and isolate the chemical treatment systems. The sprayground surface was also replaced and incorporated several new patterns to include the “factory” theme. The front of the mechanical building and office was renovated to give The Splash Factory more curb appeal. An existing balance tank was refurbished, cleaned, and given better access via a hatch lid. A secondary disinfectant UV cell and controller were provided to provide increased water sanitation. A custom pipe manifold was designed to serve all existing and new water features, while still preserving the existing piping runs.
