The over 100-year-old historic Archbold Gymnasium underwent significant renovation including a 10,000 sq. ft. addition, transforming it into The Barnes Center at The Arch, a state-of-the-art health, wellness and recreation complex.
The 190,000 sq. ft. Barnes Center at The Arch opened in September 2019 and features modern and expanded programs, services, and offerings promoting holistic health and well-being. Key amenities include a 25-yard lap pool, a large spa, a climbing wall, a mezzanine-level walking/jogging track overlooking a multipurpose gym with four basketball/volleyball courts, group exercise rooms, an indoor rowing tank, a dance studio, and a student health and wellness center.
The center also features recreation amenities such as a meditation room, a smoothie bar called Otto’s Juice Box, a pet therapy room, and three MindSpa rooms. The Arch will also feature 36 computer gaming stations, an e-sports gaming room, and six stations for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo.
Barnes Center at The Arch will be pursuing LEED-certification for sustainable design principals.
