Tecnológico de Monterrey is a private, non-profit, independent institution founded in 1943. The work of this complex and all its campuses is supported by civil associations made up of a numerous group of outstanding leaders. These members come from all over the country and are committed to sustained quality in higher education.
In 2017, a major 7.1 earthquake struck the city of Monterrey, and unfortunately caused extensive damage the Tecnológico de Monterrey’s campus. The following reconstruction included a new wellness center, which aimed to aid the physical, emotional, and spiritual balance of its students, dictating that their well-being is equally important to academic training.
The 13,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center is dedicated to exercise, to practicing different types of disciplines, to promoting nutrition and coexistence. Located on the site that previously housed the Technological Stadium, this center is also the new home for the representative volleyball, basketball, and swimming teams of the Monterrey campus.
The Wellness Center is divided into four main spaces: a recreational gym, a weight and fitness building, a pool building, and a sports training and nutrition building. The aquatics center features a 25-yard by 25-meter pool, with space for 350 spectators.
