Counsilman-Hunsaker assessed the existing lap pool and mechanical room located in the Gainesville Aquatic Center.
Originally constructed in the 1960s, the pool is utilized daily for lap swimming and water aerobics class only – no diving or competitions. The lap pool was constructed with an aluminum pool shell that had succumbed to major leaking. The location of the leaking had not been identified. The natatorium and the DE vacuum filter were also aged and particles from the filter and natatorium ceiling were regularly found in the pool requiring vacuuming of the pool daily.
A full audit was performed providing the owner with the best options moving forward with the facility and their programs.
