The new Upper Arlington High School celebrated its grand opening in August of 2021. It was constructed on the same 34-acre parcel that had been home to the existing high school for over 60 years. The new High School complements five new or renovated buildings within the district, all part of a large master plan on the November 2017 ballot voted by the community. The $230 million bond issue was supplemented by the historic Upper Arlington Legacy capital campaign that successfully raised $7.5 million toward construction costs and project enhancements to further the daily student experience in Upper Arlington Schools.
The new building was completed with the team of Moody Nolan and Perkins+Will and features a three-story academic wing of flexible teaching studios, advanced science labs, and multiple collaborative commons areas. New performing arts and athletics facilities include a 1,500-seat auditorium and black-box theatre, a new varsity gym, three-court multipurpose gym and a natatorium with a 500-seat spectator gallery.
